Exciting news for us from the Community Industry Group with their inaugural “We Do Magic” Awards which were presented Friday night 6 June at the Wollongong Novatel. The awards were an acknowledgement of those who offer critical support to vulnerable people across the Illawarra and South Coast. There were a large number of Community Service organisations who nominated for the various awards and we were very honored to be chosen, as one of two recipients, for the Above and Beyond Team Award. Tim and Andy accepted the award on our team’s behalf at the Gala event.
We are so proud of our team of staff and volunteers for all their continuing efforts to enable us to reach out to young disadvantaged and at-risk young people and support them through our farm mentoring programs. This last 18 months have been extremely challenging and it is the hard work and resilience of our team members that have empowered us to keep going. Without the added support of our volunteers and community members and continued donations to our charity, it would have been very difficult to progress the work of our mentors.
We thank the Community Industry Group for their work in informing the Community Service sector and the opportunity they generate to draw us all together. They are a valuable resource to many groups and the recognition awards were a wonderful way to boost spirits after such a tough year.
