We are so grateful to the Community Industry Group for the grant they provided enabling us to have time out, away from business as usual, with the staff and volunteers of A Taste of Paradise charity. It was an opportunity to say a big thank you to all those involved and their families too and a chance for us to support some local businesses as well.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Berry Bowling Club where we played board games and carpet bowls as the rain kept us indoors. Each family were surprised with a pack of goodies from the local IGA and the Treat Factory. With the remainder of the grant, we have purchased movie tickets to enjoy a continuation, in a few weeks, of the time we spent together.

As our volunteers support us in a variety of ways, there were those who had not yet had the opportunity to meet with each other or our mentors. We appreciated the chance to share stories and deepen relationships as well as to show our thanks for everyone’s contribution to A Taste of Paradise.
While our main emphasis is on providing for the at-risk and disadvantaged young people who attend our farm programs, we very much appreciate the Community Industry Group who provided the way for us to reward the efforts of our staff and volunteers with a time to refresh and recharge.
